Job Brief

The Housekeeping Attendants have overall responsibility for ensuring cleanliness of the Spa to include but not limited to, reception area, waiting areas working stations, storage rooms and washrooms etc. Incumbent must utilize available resources to provide excellent guest satisfaction. The Housekeeping Attendants will meet or exceed the cleanliness standards, taking corrective action as needed to ensure standards are maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

  • To be responsible and thoroughly clean all assigned areas within prescribed standard guidelines.
  • Daily duties include massage rooms turn around, replenishing linens inlockers and rooms, sweeping, dusting, and polishing furnishings, Scrubs and disinfects hydrotubs, showers, toilets, wastebaskets, tile, and other bathroom and vanity fixtures in locker room
  • Inspects and evaluates the physical condition and appearance of spa locker rooms and public areas to ensure the highest cleaning standards are met.
  • Properly disposes of garbage from waste cans throughout the facility including treatment rooms and offices.
  • Properly and safely use authorised cleaning agents.
  • Maintain the inventory of all items cleaning materials.
  • To be responsible for all the laundry that is required to be cleaned and maintain a log book record of linen laundry movement.
  • Maintain and rotate an adequate supply of clean linen and towels.
  • Deliver linens and other items as needed keep a log of record.
  • Keep all areas of the Spa including storage areas clean and organized.
  • To make sure that all consumable stock for washrooms, are always available and that the stock levels in the stock cupboards are adequate.
  • Ensure proper recording of all linens and towels in and out.
  • Assist in the monthly stock taking of linens.
  • Report any damaged or missing items or maintenance repair needs to the receptionists/and manager.
  • Assist serve guests refreshments and also acknowledge and greet them.
  • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Communicate to receptionists any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the Spa that require attention.
  • Follow correct opening and closing procedures.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duty to assist in the smooth running of the Company.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year previous housekeeping experience in a hotel environment strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Minimum requirement certificate in housekeeping.
  • Working knowledge of chemicals, cleaning supplies, and technique/equipment.
  • Extremely demonstrates attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Friendly, people-oriented, customer driven individual
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Displays integrity and honesty
  • Able to follow and adhere to standard policies and procedures
  • Individual must be highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:

  • Whilst working the job involves demanding physical tasks that require certain physical abilities including but not limited to:
  • able to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum weight of approximately 25lbs
  • able to stand for long periods of time
  • able to kneel, bend and crawl
  • able to squat and crouch
  • able to work in confined spaces
  • able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
